Environmental Professional


Primary Responsibilities and Duties:


The 325th Civil Engineering Squadron (325th CES) located at Tyndall AFB in the vicinity of Panama City, Florida, is responsible for providing environmental management technical services to Tyndall AFB. The mission will be to carry out tasks as directed to assist Tyndall AFB in meeting state and federal environmental requirements during all phases of military construction projects. Support for all management, personnel, equipment, supplies, transportation, tools, materials, supervision and other items to perform environmental management services as defined by the contract will be the primary mission.


Hurricane Michael has created the need to have additional manpower within the Environmental Element at Tyndall to support on-going projects (demolition, construction, etc). These projects must comply with state and federal environmental regulations. Consultation with state and federal agencies is critical to ensure there is no delays that may hinder the projects and to achieve the goal of rebuilding Tyndall.


Minimum Personnel Qualifications:


Individual shall possess a minimum at least

  • Bachelors degree of Science in related scientific or engineeringfield
  • 6+ years' experience in a related scientific or engineering specificfield

Essential Functions and Responsibilities


  • Must be knowledgeable of state (Florida) and federal and/or local environmental regulations and statutes , Air Force and DOD regulations and other
  • Provides professional and technical environmental consultative services; guidance and interpretations of environmental laws, regulations, and instructions; and support in achieving compliance with environmental
  • Prepares reports and letters regarding compliance and permitting. Monitors environmental activities as required by the Environmental Element
  • Collects, reviews, and evaluates performance data and other pertinent technical
  • Review environmental permit applications prepared by others. Ensures applications comply with federal, state, and local municipal rules and
  • Inspects projects associated with stormwater, wastewater, drinking water, dewatering activities, wetlands, and air emission
  • Communicate, attend meetings, initiate and complete work with other groups pertaining to projects (design reviews, permits, inspections,etc)


Additional Requirements

The Engineer will have access to unclassified automated information systems including email, in accordance with DoD 5200.2-R, Personnel Security Program, personnel must have, at a minimum, a completed favorable National Agency Check plus Written Inquiries (NACI).
