The Software Engineer will work with a team of engineers and analysts in the architecture, design, implementation and maintenance of a suite of Missile Defense and Missile Warning sensor, correlation center, and forward user models used in Tier 1 4 training and exercises.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience with Java, C++, or C# .Net (preferred), development in a DoD environment
• Knowledge of the software development life cycle
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or another relevant field
• Candidate must have strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and work well in a team environment and perform independently

Additional Qualifications:

• Performs full software life cycle including: Design, develop, implement and maintain applications on Microsoft Windows-based systems.
• Experience with NASA World Wind API, Telerik Win Controls, and Dart TCP Sockets is a plus.
• Interacting with customers to gather requirements and offering creative solutions, writing documentation, presenting project designs, performing user training and attending requirements meetings.        
• Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
• Utilize software engineering best practices (unit testing, code reviews, design documentation).
• Experience or understanding of OPIR, UEWR, NDS or MDA ground/sea based sensors is a plus.
• Strong software troubleshooting, debugging, and analysis skills are a plus.
• Ability to "emotionally disconnect" and clearly express problems to project leaders when confronted with impossible requests or assumptions about how easy or simple things should be.

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret to Start the ability to achieve a Top Secret clearance is required; Active DoD Secret clearance to Start Ability to obtain a TS will be necessary to maintain employment.
